I think being silly is very different from being funny.
I'd look to comedians that you find funny and work out what they do and if you can add that to what you want to do.
My favourite comedian is the long dead Irishman Dave Allen
I don't think he ever told a joke but make me laugh every time...

For my part I'd suggest starting off gently, maybe in some of the non-writing subforums
When you get a feel of the place and what to enter a conversation, give it a go
[Even if you don't know it] I am sure you have experiences and knowledge...
I am old-school and I think visually so I have dozen and dozens of pencil and paper maps for what I write.
Using them I find it far better/easier to tweak. If I use soft pencils I can just use an eraser to wipe out a town, redirect a river or move a forest.
