Thanks for the advice, especially the goat Idea. I have a canal city as the main setting so I'll probably base them off Italian names, mostly. I have a few that already have decided names that I really like.

I often go to a random name generator and hit the button until I find something I am vaguely satisfied with, then edit the name until I like it. I fear that the setting will have a mixture of totally unrelated names doing it this way. Any suggestions?

Still new to creative writing, but I use Word. I used it for school and had access so it was just natural for me.
