Now that I think about it. The Zelda 'cycle' reminds me of wheel of time! Yeah, I had a "aha" moment as a child when I found out that Link is not Zelda. Isn't the triforce crystalized goddesses?

I know that Link and Zelda are reincarnations. Don't know if that was intentional or just a way to explain and enable the different games. A way to tie them together but still give the developers freedom to explore different dynamics and settings.
