So for one of my story ideas I have a bit of an odd goal.

I want to write a story that 'walks the line' of being....let's just say 'content' but without including the bits of said 'content' that I don't particularly find interesting.

I know it's possible, plenty of non adult anime have scenes that walk the line, but walking said line is often part of the joke. The viewer is often meant to roll their eyes at said jokes.
I've always believed that the people that make said content are 'doing it wrong' I guess, but it might just be me.

Really the story just involves a lot of 'changing shape' off screen (sometimes on screen) and a few characters being 'hypnotized' to like the main character. The characters who are meant to truly/genuinely fall in love with the protag, aren't hypnotized by said wish at all. They are 'drawn' to him for other reasons, mainly because they 'click' right away when they meet. The ones that are around his age have actually met and chatted with him under normal circumstances, before said wish, so they already kind of have that connection.

The goal is to make him regret making his silly wish (which does happen halfway through) while having a funny/goofy take on a particular genre of 'content' I guess.

So, you have been making posts about this story for quite a while now, have you started writing it? Do you really need more from us?

A sentiment like this has probably inspired every bit of writing since Gilgamesh. The floor is open and the water is warm. Please, do it right.

I'm going to write a chapter (or start it at least) this current Wednesday. (Tomorrow) Since I've decided to make Wednesday my 'wild card' day. If anyone here is interested in beta ing it to help make sure it doesn't 'cross the line' I'd love the help. I have a feeling I know what to do, the problem is doing it consistantly throughout the story. Which is why I would need a second pair of eyes to help me maintain a 'tone' that doesn't cross the line. I've read plenty of Visual Novels that attempt this, but most of them cross the line at some point. The goal is to not cross the line at all if I can, but rather walk it.

That's the concern and why I ask for help/opinions on ideas a lot. I have to plan this one out cautiously, never done a story of this 'nature' and I don't want to cross my own personal lines, let alone the lines others have. Besides the obvious bits I mean.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I have no idea what specifically you mean here.

Other than that, I agree with pmmg in that you should just start writing the story and see how it goes. And it doesn't matter if your first draft isn't consistent all the way through. That's what the second draft is for. I'm currently in the middle of a first draft, and I've discovered along the way that one of the plot-lines that run through it is actually about something very different than what I originally envisioned. I wouldn't have come up with that if I hadn't started writing. So just get on with it. Sit down and start writing, and you'll find soon enough how it goes.

And yes, your tone will most likely not be consistent during your first draft. That's the curse of a first draft and a beginning writer. Just write and fix it later.

I also don't understand what this is about, or what these " lines" are that you don't want to cross. I'm with the "write more, agonize about your writing less" view.

I posted a thread in chit chat talking about a series of animations, it contains 'content' but it's genuinely wholesome/silly. (though a different kind of content)
That's the kind of content tone I want to maintain, there's a reason that series/channel is still up on youtube while other attempts are not.
As for what I'm writing, I would say the E word but it's even lighter on 'content' than even that, literally just has the growing/shape changing bit. Maybe a few silly jokes here and there.

As for actually writing the thing I'm working on chapter one right now. It probably won't have any on screen changes (Because the wish doesn't get that bad right away) but it will establish the tone of the story.

Well, I didn't see the chit chat, I don't understand what you mean by"content", and I don't know what the E word is. So, unless you are are going to explain, I'll bow out of this discussion.

Let's just say both things are considered 'pervy' (trying to keep it family friendly cause forum rules) but a lot of the content for my interest are more on the 'rank' side of things (which I don't like, and honestly never liked) when people can just as easily do the same thing but keep it family friendly/clean, if that helps.

Like let's say for my particular interest, I am only fascinated/interested in the part about the growing/shape changing, I would much prefer the 'Horny' parts be left out entirely. That's the goal I want to achieve with my story. Bring the same 'sauce' but have different (family friendly) spices you know?

As for 1:1 Heroine: here's an episode that the artist recently uploaded.
