Hi everyone!
I'm new here, and found this forum by Googling "world-building forums". I'm originally from Russia, currently living in Texas, and I'm a professional game artist (Natasha Haggard). I've always been interested in fantasy world-building, ever since I read "The Land of Shvambrania" as a kid. I love drawing fantasy maps and coming up with characters, but I'm not so good with actual writing - and I'm hoping this forum will help me with that.

We're glad to have you here!:wavespin: Any questions you have about writing can be posted in the forums and after several posts you should be able to post in community showcase where we can help you more directly. Of course the more involved you are, the more likely it is that you'll get more reads in the showcase.

Feel free to jump right in. We're an incredibly diverse community that values everyone's views and opinions and I look forward to reading your input in our forums and of course learning more about the Land of Shvambrania.

We have several other artists-turned writers here so you're in good company. We're all here to improve our writing so there's no judgement. By the way, your artwork is beautiful - I really like the fire magic woman.

Good to have you here.
I think TCC has just about said it all.
I was drawn to Gallant Knight. That has a wonderful feel to it, part illuminated scroll, part wood cut...
I've just seen the full title of the book you mention "The Land of Shvambrania: A Novel with Maps, A Coat of Arms, and a Flag". I love that. And now I have to find a copy...

Welcome to the forum! I am sure you will find that the folk here are pretty friendly and I doubt there is much I could add to what has already been said about this wonderful community. I am sort of the opposite to you. I enjoy writing but am absolutely terrible at art and wish I was more talented in that area.

I took a look at your site and like your map, do you take commissions? I have some maps that I made ages ago that aren't too terribly pretty but get the job done. I want to use some of them in video games I am doing writing on and have been looking for someone who could make them a bit more presentable and possibly include them as freebie handouts included with the game when it comes out. Message me if you are interested!
