Hi there. I am new to this forum but very old to writing. I'm currently in the midst of a highly unsuccessful bid to publish(it is not going well). But I heard people like deep world-building on this forum. Well, I've got a world I've been building for 28 years and writing novels set in for just as long. I'm looking forward to exploring this community. Its difficult to find the tranquility of an old-school forum these days.

Oh, around. I've known of this community for a while. Its nice to be someplace that's a little more focused on what I'm actually doing than the chaotic discords I've been surfing of late.

I just have no feel for our popularity outside of this little corner. I tend to think things like Discord and Reddit and facebook groups get most of the traffic. I am not sure they even know about us.

I quit facebook 10 years ago, haven't looked back, and it was the best decision I ever made. I can't make sense of reddit; I literally can't read fast enough to stay engaged with it. Discord is........ .....full of all the same crap that made me quit facebook. The "hi, how are you?" "I'm fine, thanks" conversations that dominate the discord writing communities I tried to engage with is just so vapid. Also said writing communities were over-run with tween girls writing gay porn. So, ya know, I went looking for a fantasy writing community and I found this place!

Pretty much how I see it. I have always been a forum lizard. I like the slower pace and the more thought out answers.

SAAAME! Its sedate and pleasant. And your words have longer meaning. Unlike Reddit where you can make the best post in the world, 9 hours later its buried so deep no one will ever read it again.
