Magic in my world

So I'm sure this has been done before by someone lol but I have a role in my story that a human is taken from earth to another planet, as humans on earth we have no magic powers to speak of however I've gone down the route of Adrenaline for the magical source within the human, the back story being humans lost the information on what it truly was how to activate it and use it that kind of thing, considering we know what adrenaline can do to a human I'm curious in real life, I figured it could be a nice little oh but you do have magic inside you moment. I'm love to know your thoughts on the Magic powers source being adrenaline all input is appreciated...

Somewhat similar to what I did.

1 - Utterly inhuman aliens with naturally high PSI abilities terraformed several planets tens of thousands of years ago.

2 - Aliens brought groups of humans and other primitive races to these planets as servants and test subjects. Importation began around 10K years ago and continued until around 2K years ago. As a result, these races brought with them elements of their old societies.

3 - When their numbers began to decline, the aliens genetically imbued select humans and others with vastly increased PAI abilities. Human and alien (Goblin) labor camps became vassal states.

4 - The alien civilization imploded 2-3K years ago. The vassal states became kingdoms, and the PSI people became wizards. Now the alien era is a myth.

5 - While there are a few true PSI humans on Earth, they lack the power of those enhanced by the aliens.

I have given no thought to adrenaline being a source of anything other than stepping up a little more when things are stressed.

Magic in my world is based on creation, ley lines, and pools of mana... Some tap into them better than others.

What you wrote reminds me of both Superman, who finds he has great power when he comes to a new planet, and the Hulk, who must have an adrenaline surge in there somewhere. I suspect your guy is not as powerful as them.

I think adrenaline as the source of magic is not something I have encountered before. I suppose my question would be, so...now he finds he has a source, what happens if he returns to plain old boring Earth?

Huh never thought of that super man Hulk combo 😂.... I haven't delved into it fully but there would be the lost history of humanity to discover for the character why did humanity lost the knowledge? What is stopping humans from using it? And more so if he returned if I was the character I'd start investigating lost history lol.
