Too anxious to socialize 😂 but still need community

Hey, hey!
Just stumbled upon this site and thought I’d check it out. I love reading, I’ve read at least a chapter of something every day for the last 2 years. I joked that maybe I’d learn to write through osmosis, but was never sure of what I would even write about. But! I just started writing and would love real eyeballs on it for critique and feedback. I have like two friends, and they don’t read for fun so I’ve exhausted them out, haha. And I have no one to passionately rant about books with! Looking for a sense of community with some fellow readers. ☺️

Welcome to Scribes, hon. Being an author is a really weird balance between loving to read and loving to write. Not much about loving to people, but for as small as it is, interacting with readers and other creators is the crucial bit that can make or break a modern literary career. It's weird stuff.

Don't worry that you need to be "on" with anyone here. We all know the dance. We all feel that pain. And we have oh, so many lurkers. Welcome, have fun, read the forums and learn the stuff. You're in good company.

Idk, I guess all moms just assume the worst lol.
My mom does have quite the imagination (and In some cases I don't blame her due to lack of context) on one hand I'm glad for it, but on the other lol
Half of the time the things she imagines is nowhere near the actual thing though. She do watch a lot of detective shows.
90% of what she'd be concerned about is probably her imagination and/or overreacting. The other 10% (which is a very small part of my life) I'm letting god make the call.
That being said, I'd rather have parents who do care than ones who don't.
