Wuxia

Hi, my next project will be, god or gods of your choice willing, a Wuxia story with a twist. I'm curious:
1. Has anyone here written such a story?
2. If you've read this genre, any books you'd recommend? I've only read Water Margin (which is sort of the grandfather of the genre), and the first Heroes of the Condor series. I plan on reading the rest of the series.

I haven't read any Wuxia, but I've read several Xanxia stories. Much, muuuuuuuuch higher levels of magic in those than Wuxia.

I was a fan of the Water Margin and Monkey TV series but I can't say I've read any thing like that.

I'm thinking of a story which collects heroes from different cultures, and pits them against...an alien invasion. Something like a twisted Water margin

I dont write in a Chinese culture. But if the question is about noble warriors with a good sense of honor, I would say I have a pseudo European vibe of that. Maybe it is EuroWuxia, or Wuxia Adjacent.

But, I dont really think in terms of those labels. The story is just the story.
